Dr Damian Viviers is a Director in the Commercial Practice Group at the firm and is involved in a broad range of corporate, commercial and compliance related legal services, as well as project development. Dr Viviers particularly enjoys legal work related to Information and Data Protection, Corporate Structuring and Business Development.

He excelled at university level, achieving both his LL.B and LL.M degrees cum laude at the University of the Free State and achieving a number of awards for academic excellence. He continued with his academic studies and also completed his Doctorate in Law degree in Mercantile Law, becoming one of the youngest achievers of a Doctorate in law.

He has also made contributions towards various publications in both national and international contemporary law and business journals, as well as having presented papers at legal conferences and seminars. Damian is also the co-author of the Juta & Co textbook titled Vulnerable Employees.

Currently based in the Western Cape and heading up the firm’s presence there, he is committed to providing quality legal services for his clients, across South Africa and abroad.

In his spare time he enjoys CrossFit, as well as advancing a fit and healthy lifestyle. Dr Viviers also has a passion for food and is an avid wine enthusiast, pursuing his professional journey to become a Cape Wine Master.
