Ilette is an associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of Phatshoane Henney Attorneys where she conducts general litigation in the High Court and Magistrates' Court and specialises in the field of family law,
She grew up in Pretoria and obtained her degrees at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. After her studies, she was appointed as candidate attorney at Honey Attorneys in Bloemfontein and thereafter as an associate in the firm's general litigation department. She joined the Phatshoane Henney Attorneys team in 2019.
Ilette understands that familial disputes may cause immense stress and emotional turmoil to clients and therefore endeavours to be available at all hours of the day or night to assist her clients throughout the course of their legal matters.
She is an avid litigant and public speaker and greatly enjoys appearing in court to fight on her client’s behalf. She is, however, also sensitive to the fact that clients can easily feel overwhelmed by the entire litigation experience and as such takes great care to approach every matter pragmatically and with a level head – ensuring that her clients obtain the best possible outcome each and every time. She believes that such a pragmatic approach to problem-solving combined with a strong work ethic and attention to detail, are of paramount importance in the successful finalisation of any legal matter.
Ilette has a particular fondness for animals, music and the outdoors and when not at the office or spending time with friends and family, she can be found volunteering at an animal shelter, hiking between mountain ranges or listening to (or playing) music.
