Creating a Powerful Partnership: When Business and Art Collaborate

In 2016, PH Attorneys established the New Breed Art Competition. This visual arts competition was designed specifically for artists from the Free State region and has now entered its eighth year. The competition serves as an exceptional platform for these artists to exhibit their talent and contemporary artwork from the Free State. Winners of the competition receive prizes and national exposure, furthering their careers.

The competition was born out of the firm's shared passion for excellence and creativity, which demanded recognition of these qualities in other disciplines. Art, as a universal medium capable of transcending boundaries and challenging perceptions, was the perfect vehicle for this recognition. Through the New Breed Art Competition, a new generation of artists is discovered and celebrated.

Furthermore, the competition serves to celebrate the roots of Free State artists, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talent and stake a claim for national recognition.

We are excited to announce that New Breed Art has become a member of Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), an organization at the forefront of promoting collaboration between businesses and the arts sector in South Africa. Founded in 1997 as a joint initiative between the government and private sector, BASA aims to increase business involvement in the arts and cultural spheres of the country.

The values of Innovation and Diversity upheld by PH Attorneys align perfectly with the BASA values.

As we continue to push the boundaries of creativity and collaboration, we believe that our partnership with BASA will open up new doors and opportunities for our artists and the broader arts community in South Africa. By working together, we can leverage the unique strengths of both the business and arts sectors to drive cultural growth and make a meaningful impact on society.
