Herman is engaged in a broad range of matters in the construction and engineering sector. In addition to this, he focuses mainly on alternative dispute resolution for contractual disputes in various dispute resolution forums.

He commenced his legal career as a part-time lecturer for Commercial Law and Labour Law at the Central University of Technology, and as a research assistant at the University of the Free State.

Herman joined PH Attorneys in 2020 and was admitted as an attorney in 2022. His practice focuses on civil adjudications, arbitrations and court related disputes specifically dealing with corporate and contractual disputes in the construction and engineering sector. His practice also includes advising clients on the incorporation of and compliance with legal principles and obligations of contract management.

He has experience in advising clients on the interpretation and application of various standard forms of construction contracts such as the NEC, FIDIC, GCC and JBCC contracts. He has advised, supported and represented clients who are both contractors and employers in the construction industry and his client-centric approach to his relationship with clients is one of the central characteristics of his practice. 

In his spare time, he enjoys assisting students participating in moot competitions and exercising to stay healthy.
