Herman is a Candidate Legal Practitioner in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Phatshoane Henney Attorneys.
Prior to his employement here he has worked as a research assistant in the Department of Private Law at the University of the Free State. As a student he represented the UFS at three international moot competitions, twice at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and once at the All Africa Human Rights Moot. For two years he had also assisted with training students for the Kovsie First Year Moot and hopes to continue his involvement with this competition.
Herman has spoken at numerous events at the UFS campus the last few years, and hopes to continue supporting the moot society, Legal Behemoth, which he had chaired in his final year. He has also offered lectures in Commercial and Labour Law at the Central University of Technology, an experience he immensely enjoyed.
The motto, “A healthy body means a healthy mind” is what drives him in his day-to-day life. He enjoys reading and jogging in his spare time, and believes in order to be happy, it's necessary to lead a well-balanced life.
