Damian is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Practice Group at Phatshoane Henney Attorneys where he is involved in a broad range of commercial services, research and project development.

Damian excelled at university level, achieving both his LL.B and LL.M degrees cum laude at the University of the Free State and achieving a number of awards for academic excellence. He continued with his academic studies and also completed his Doctorate in Law degree in Mercantile Law at the UFS, becoming one of the youngest achievers of a Doctorate in law.

Damian is a Research Fellow and ad hoc lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State and has made contributions towards various publications in both national and international contemporary law and business journals, as well as having presented papers at legal conferences and seminars in addition to supervising post-graduate masters and doctoral law students. Damian is also the co-author of the Juta & Co textbook titled Vulnerable Employees, published in April 2017. During his postgraduate studies, Damian worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Private Law and as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law, Private Law and the Centre for Labour Law at the University of the Free State.

After having conquered the academe, Damian turned his attention towards the profession and was appointed to serve his articles at the Commercial Practice Group of Phatshoane Henney Attorneys. His keen commercial mind and relentless pursuit for excellence soon became apparent and involved him in complex commercial transactions, structuring, taxation and research as well as new project development by the firm. Damian is also on the template development committee of the practice group and is an internal training facilitator, helping train firm staff in softs skills and compliance training.

But Damian is not all work and no play. He enjoys swimming and being active, as well as time to socialise with friends and attend cultural activities.
