Etienne van Zyl

Etienne led the Mossel Bay High Court Litigation Department from January 2022 and served as a Director of the firm. After a long and distinguished legal career, he stepped down as Director in April 2024, but continues his association with the firm as a consultant, bringing his extensive expertise in general conveyancing and bond registrations, commercial contracts, property developments, property transfers through estate agents, and liquor licenses to our clients.

Etienne grew up in the Free State and Eastern Cape. After matriculating in Grahamstown, he obtained his B.Iuris and LLB degrees from the University of the Free State in 1987 and 1990 respectively. He completed his articles of clerkship with Symington & de Kok in Bloemfontein and was admitted as an Attorney, Notary, and Conveyancer in 1992. He remained with Symington & de Kok for many years, serving as a Director until August 2020.
