Danie le Roux

Danie is a Director in the Commercial Practice Group of PH Attorneys. He specialises in providing a broad range of corporate and commercial services to private and institutional clients, including foreign and domestic corporate structuring and taxation, commercial contracting and Black Economic Empowerment. He is also intimately involved with new project development by the firm.

Danie is a specialist in financial planning, commercial structuring and international taxation and has established partnerships and associated relationships, including joint ventures, with various prominent financial institutions and international professional service providers, and has extensive experience of more than 15 years in this field.


Danie obtained his B.Com (Law) degree from the University of the Free State specialising in finance and economics and establishing his keen commercial interest in finance, structuring and financial planning. Thereafter he completed his LL.B degree. He is a certified financial planner (CFP), member of the Financial Planning Institute and now practises as a specialist corporate and commercial lawyer.

He commenced his professional career as a candidate attorney at Naudes Attorneys, plying his trade in commercial law and estate planning and soon became a leading practitioner specialising in corporate and commercial law. Danie continued his passion in respect of finance and structuring by providing advice and solutions in the fields of international financing and investment structuring, including aspects of international trade, taxation and corporate law.

Understanding that the complexity of the modern business world requires professionals that can effortlessly navigate these complexities, Danie approaches every transaction with dedication, quality of service, excellence and years of experience. His problem solving mentality ensures that all facets of a matter are scrutinised and carefully considered before a solution is identified and implemented.

Danie’s specialisation and insight in understanding clients’ legal problems and challenges, as well as his capacity for devising solutions to resolve and mitigate challenges originating from both inside the client’s business and external sources, such as the legislative framework and environment within which a client conducts its business, is why his clients and colleagues refuse to work within anyone else.

Over the years Danie has been involved with a number of capital infrastructure projects, including public private partnerships and structured finance deals. He leads a commercial department which is equipped in the fields of corporate and business law, finance, intellectual property, commercial drafting, and commercial structuring and offers quality commercial and corporate services to a wide-range of local and international clients.

Danie is an avid endurance athlete, enjoying the challenges of trail and distance running in his spare time and using the time away from the office to formulate intricate solutions for his clients.
