André is a public health activist. He is a wordsmith, painter and photographer. He uses poetry and art to give voice to social issues in society. He uses his art to comment on the inequity in our contemporary society. He is especially interested in how urban spaces are utilised and affect and influence the lives of people. The underbelly of society and marginalised citizens at the fringe of society, captures his interest and imagination. He sees the city as a stage on which the lives of the citizens (actors) play off, and his photographs 'screengrabs' the moments from this performance, reflecting the interaction of the actors with themselves, their co-actors and the space they play in.

His work appears in the private collection of Phatshoane Henney Attorneys as well as the National Art Bank. He was the runner-up of the Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition 2017. His work was also shortlisted for the Sasol New Signatures 2018, and the Thami Mnyele 2018 competition.
